Iver johnson TP-25, for $150.00. Would it be a good buy?
I've been trying to get my hands on the 22lr version for a while, for a fun PPK looking plinker. I can't find any, unless i go on gunbroker, and then they are all $350 or more. This little guy is $150.00, the only problem is it's a .25acp. I just want to know if it would still be a fun plinker to add to my collection, and also, how expensive is the .25acp cartridge?
Thanks!!!
I would go for it, Iver Johnson made cheap guns but NEVER a low quality gun. They made hundred year old guns people still use today. I used a eighty year old Iver Johnson Safety Auto exposed hammer in .38 S&W [Not Special] as a back up gun when I worked security and a "It's midnight what the hell was that noise" gun. I bought my Safety Auto for about $150 and $168 something out the door.
Now about the Quality of the is out of the question let's talk ammo. .25 ACP is okay for plinking, not a big round and easy on recoil. As for stopping power most people will tell you a good .22 lr HP will out preform it in this roll. Price and availability, It's not as hard to find as .380 ACP a few months ago you might just have to look around. Price wise I see boxes marked from $14 up to $35 or 40 depennding on what kind of ammo you want for it. FMJ usually being cheaper.
