1 of my powered mackie speakers isnt powering up and red light is on where it says thermal. What does it mean?
Did a gig last night. We only had vocals coming out of my 2 mackie srm450's, as we were using 2 other speakers for the music. Suddenly one of my speakers green light went out on the front and on the back of the speaker there was a red light where it says thermal. We tried everything from change of power lead, to change of socket and pushing buttons on the back of the speaker but nothing worked. Can anyone help?
Thermal means that the amplifier inside your powered speaker has overheated for one reason or another and the thermal switch has been activated. It should reset itself once the heat sinks have cooled down. See pg 8 and 12 of the Owner's Manual in the first link below. The second link is for the srm450v2 and the corresponding pages are 8 and 13. If it doesn't reset, it's possible that the thermal switch has failed. The manuals also have contact information for tech support from Mackie.
