Why would it be so hard to make a myspace tracker?
I mean really, it seems that if you're logged in then you're sending your information to the myspace server every time you click on a link within the site so that it continues to register you as being logged in, so why would it be so hard to have a code that requests the profile's id--to be stored and viewed later by the tracker's owner--when they request the tracked page, or something along those lines?
I guess it's obvious that i probably don't know all that much about coding, but it seems like a fairly simple concept.

Sean is sort of on the ball. The primary reason is because there are technical limits imposed on myspace.com. In most cases, you'd be able to make a simple script that activates/downloads information just from the user being on the page, thus storing the username in a database like you said, but myspace has filtered many codes from processing that would have those capabilities, which is why all the trackers don't work.
Typically, any tracker that actually DOES function is when you & another user are signed up for the same one.
