You have a triangle, with sides A-B, B-C and C-A. If the sides are in the ratio 3:4:5 it is a right-angled triangle.
It is Pythagoras's Theorem, which says the square of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. 3:4:5 says exactly the same in English.
