I have a 2001 cadillac dts, my problem is that my ac quit blowing from the dash vents, how difficult to fix?
I seem to be hearing that more and more lately with the summer months upon us. You need to be more specific as to what it's doing, is blowing any air at all? Is it blowing regular air that isn't cool, or is it blowing hot air? If it's hot air, you could have an internal fault in the HVAC control module or a bad temperature actuator. This could also be true if it's blowing regular air from outside. The other end of this is that your A/C compressor could be burnt up. The compressor isn't cooling the refridgerant and is casuing warm air to come out of the vents. An overall loss of air is going to be a blower motor, which moves the air through the car.
Truth is, none of these are easy fixes unless you know what you're doing, and most of them will run close to or above $1000. Good luck.
