HOW TO WIRE A SWITCH / RECEPTACLE COMBOFROM A SINGLE POLE SWITCH?
initially I had a single pole toggle swtich in my garage. i needed a recepticle so i went and bought the new combo.. i tried wiring it every single waty possible but its seems i am not compleating the circuit as other recepticles in that cirtcuit are not working. initially i had two black wires to the single pole and three wite wires tied up together . please help
First off if you really do not know what you are doing. Please stop now and get a licensed electrician.
You got to have some power coming in on one of those wires it should be the feed wire, not the one going to the light. You'll need to pigtail a hot (black) and neutral (white) wire from the main wire that feeds the switch and attach the pigtails to the receptacle side. That should feed power to the outlet. Now since I can't actually see your switch and plug I can't give you an exact answer. If you could post a picture on photobucket of what your doing or send me a photo of what your doing to my email at randytravisrocks@netzero.net and I will help you.
