Car Audio: Fuse Size Question?
Hey everyone, i am installling 2 clarion amps, an APX4240 and a DPX1800 into my car, the APX4240 has 2 30A Fuses in it and the DPX1800 has 3 30A Fuses in it. My plan is to put a 125A ANL Fuse under the hood by the battery and at the fused distribution block, have 2 25A AGU Fuses. My question is, does that sounds good, does it sound right, or should i chuck the fused distribution block and get a nonfused one and just put a 150A ANL fuse at the battery?
I don't think it makes a difference, but just in case i'll also add, the wire from the battery to the fused distribution block is 4 Gauge, and from the block to the amps are 8 Gauge. Any help would be great, thank you in advance.
i would put bigger fuses in the distribution block. if possible put a 50A fuse for the wire going to the APX4240 and an 80A fuse to the DPX1800 and also have a 140A to 150A at the battery. this way you will get the most power to your amps without allowing enough power to blow the amps. If i'm wrong someone else please correct me but i believe this is what i would do.
