How do I avoid dirt roads when using GPS?
I recently bought a Magellan Maestro 3225 from Costco. Every time I use it to calculate a route it suggests dirt roads which are not fast at all? Is there any way to avoid dirt roads or should I return this and buy another brand?
Check to see if your GPS receiver is set to calculate the fastest route or the shortest route. If it is set for "Fastest," I would think the GPS receiver would know the dirt road is slow and should be avoided.
I have become less enamored with Magellan over time. I have owned several Magellan devices, but I quit recommending them a couple of years ago. They seem to be more trouble-prone than other brands now, and their customer support is of little help when you do have trouble.
