What is the max magnetic declination?
When doing land navigation with a map you have to make the conversion from grid to magnetic north. This changes depending on your location in the world. What is the maximum that this goes to before it starts decreasing again?
In the US it reaches a max of about 25 W and 20 Easterly for declination. As you near the southern pole opposite of the northern pole the declination can increase to 180 E/W depending on your position before it switches to the opposite and starts decreasing. For all reasonable purposes though, its wont be more than 40-50 Easterly or westerly.
